April Sanders - Third Grade and STEM
I've been an elementary school teacher for 19 years. My teaching career has taken me to international schools in South Korea and Thailand, to public and private schools in Oregon and back home to the Gateway Eagles campus in Washington State, where I was born. I graduated from the UW in 1993 with a degree in Psychology and received my teaching certificate at SPU a few years later. I also have a M.Ed degree in Information Sciences and Technology. I feel very blessed to be able to pass on my love for STEM and especially, my love of God and His Word to my students!
I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 27 years and we have three sons. My oldest is a software engineer at Microsoft, my middle son is studying sustainable engineering at SPU and my youngest is entering 4th grade but says he really does NOT want to be an engineer. ;) In my spare time, I work as a children’s copywriter, read lots of books and drink a lot of coffee! Teaching is an amazing, awesome responsibility, and I thank God every day that He called me to this ministry.
