Barbro Turner - First Grade
After high school, I attended Vancouver Bible College in Surrey, British Columbia, where I fell in love with the beautiful Pacific Northwest! I graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota, with a degree in Social Studies and Elementary Education. My 5th year teaching certificate is from Seattle Pacific University. I have twelve years experience in classroom teaching, plus I was a substitute teacher for several years. My classroom teaching experience is in both first and second grade. Teaching first grade at Bremerton Christian School was my first job. I also taught at Tracyton Elementary and Sylvan Way Christian School. In addition, I spent many years homeschooling my five children!
I grew up on a farm in Minnesota. My husband, Jim, and I have been married for 34 years. He is a teacher with the Washington Virtual Academy. We have five adult children: Justin, Annika, Heidi, Kelsey and Megan. Heidi, and her husband, Peter, had our first grandchild in February! My husband and I attend Cornerstone Alliance Church in Poulsbo. I enjoy traveling, reading, trying new recipes, and spending time with family and friends. I love being part of the Gateway family!
